F55/F56 Power loss when accelerating after brake?
Power loss when accelerating after brake?
This is my first turbo car and I'm not sure if this is right or not. After I brake, and then I press on the gas pedal, it feels like the power is gone for a couple of seconds and then it gives me a sudden push. This is pretty annoying especially when I'm making a right turn. Feels like I just suddenly stop on the road for a couple of seconds and people waiting to go straight just stare at me and don't know what's going on. Anyone else has similar situation?
An OBDII data-log would help to see what's actually going on. I'm assuming there are no CEL's?
Also, go drive another similar car and see if it's your car or something you're doing wrong with both.

Here's a long shot but you never know. Not with my Mini, but with a brand new CRV, we were randomly getting acceleration delays after braking and stopping at stop signs or red lights.
After repeated analysis, we were able to figure out it was the BOS (Brake Override System). Newer cars have a safety feature that if the brakes are engaged, if you step on the gas, you barely get any power until the car knows that the brakes are no longer engaged. In my situation the Brake Relay Switch was adjusted, then replaced, then adjusted again. The problem continued. Then replaced the antilock brake system. Problem continued. After braking and stepping on gas, you would go at idle speed for a number of seconds until the car figured out that the brake's were not engaged and allowed the engine to operate normally. Dealer tried their best to resolve repeatedly. Corporate just kept telling me to take the car back each time it happened. It was too dangerous. I sent notification of proceeding with Lemon Law. At that point Corporate choose not to fight and bought the car back at 100%.
Odds are you are having some type of turbo lag but just in case, this is something to be aware of.

Does it happen in sport mode as well? If it does you have a bigger problem, if not then drive in sport mode or consider Sprint Booster.
Trending Topics
Never heard of Sprint Booster- sounds great though. After coming from driving hondas, I really miss the instant throttle response. If this brings some of that back, I want it. Do we know if it works in the F56? And how well it works?
Conclusions
The Sprint Booster is a simple amplifier that multiplies the accelerator pedal sensor signal, making the accelerator pedal more sensitive. It does not eliminate any significant delay in throttle response, nor does it greatly improve acceleration figures. It does not change the adaptive throttle control programming of electronic throttle control vehicles. It does change pedal “feel”. This change in feel is interpreted by some as improved throttle response, acceleration, and a change in adaptive throttle control programming. Considering what it actually does, it is expensive.
I was on normal mode and traction control on. Gee, I'm gonna take it to the dealer and let them check. But my mini only has 8260 miles and since the closest dealer is about 120 miles away, I'm planning to go there only at the coming oil change. Does anybody know how I can persuade the dealership to do an oil change at this mileage? I called but they refused the oil change at this mileage.
