Bluetooth/snap-in iPhone 5S adapter‏

I've ordered a Cooper S Hardtop 4 door with the Wired Upgrade pkg and was wondering how exactly the iPhone integration worked. After looking at the forums on the subject I'm not sure I'm all that much better informed. My understanding at this point is...

I need the BMW/Mini snap-in adapter 84212289717. Or maybe 8421289718.

I can get the same 'complete' (semi-complete?...sort of complete?) iPhone integration via Bluetooth and a USB cable. Or maybe not.

Any light onto this darkness would be greatly appreciated.

You definitely do not NEED it. The snap in adapter will keep the phone out of the way in the armrest and will connect it to audio, power, and an antenna system that boosts your reception.

OR you can just use BT audio or plug it into the USB port with the Apple cable. You won't get the signal boosting and it won't look as clean, but with the $250+ you didn't spend on the snap in adapter, you won't mind.

I'm tempted to pick one up. I have 2 phones, one Windows Phone (personal), and an iPhone 5 (work). It'd be nice to just snap the iPhone in, and use it (and my company paid data plan) to run Spotify or Pandora or something while I'm driving.

If you use any kind of a case, you'll have to remove it every time you want to "just snap it in."

I have an extremely slim case that I would be fine with going without completely. Not too worried about that.

It's the most expensive charger you could possibly buy lol. It comes with its own tin foil had that gives you better reception too!

Mfg Part# 84212289717 5 S iphone snap in - Media.

is the snap in adapter, most go with the Y cable, but then you phone hangs out in the cup holder section. The Snap in adapter utilizes the center console and does hold it in place so it will not move around, it does utilize a little internal fan. My old one amplified the signal a bit more it seemed on my old iphone 4 adapter. Let us know how you like it.
