I thought the light ring was pretty useless. Is the armrest still an option or is it standard. I agree it's a bit high. I stick my garage door opener in it, which is about all the room it has lol.

Each key will store separate settings, so if your wife hates it, she can have it turned off when her key unlocks the vehicle.

The armrest IS an option, or part of the Premium Package and/or included in the Wired Upgrade package or when Navigation XL is selected. The new armrest in the F55/F56 is actually much nicer and higher quality than the R5x series MINIs. It is also a bit larger as well, but I have the Phone charger/connector installed so it is basically where I securely store my "music" iPhone5 to avoid having it exposed and exposed cords.

It can be set by key...have her hop in with her key and change the settings to turn the Center Instrument off.

Looked good at the NAIAS autoshow. The back door is a little small. But an average person should have no issue getting into the back seat. They have some unique interior on both.

The MINI Superleggera was right in front so it was hard to not look at it.

According to Motoringfile.com, it should be late this year.

I ended up doing a delete on my armrest - could never get comfortable with it. Filled the unsightly hole with some foam and a piece of black leather.

It's interesting that even after moving the thing every which way the arm rest made the driving position feel cramped even though there is more room than before. I kept elbowing the darn thing no matter where I moved it too on every shift, so I would look to avoid it as an option, yet I can't seem to avoid it being added to my build with the packages I chose.

Some have done surgery after the fact.
We made a point of not ordering because of the manual.

I will take quirky any day, but poor ergonomics will have more long-term effects.
Actually, if you look at 3-series models, they managed a conventional parking brake AND an elevated iDrive controller, so NO EXCUSES BMW!

Any info on whether the rev matching on the manual can be shut off via programming rather than having to shut off the dtc?
