It's not for an F56, which has a built-in central electronic control unit, and it's not equivalent to OEM either, plus coding is required. Not the same as Bimmer-Tech's offering.
I got the MMI kit from bimmertech for my 2015 Mini Cooper F56. I have nav/larger screen/PDC and I’m a fan of it so far. Feels pretty oem, attached is what it looks like with the split screen with the PDC. You can also go full screen and have it overlay the PDC on top of the image but I wasn’t a big fan of that.

pretty pricey spent about $1200 all in. $600 for the kit and $500 for the install. My install cost is probably on the high side. Seems to have taken the sop between 4 and 5 hours

Wow! that is expensive.. I expect that amount should get you the OEM backup camera.
I had the same kit installed on my 2016 MCS by 4X4 Shop Canada and it cost me around $450 (CAD) including the kit and installation.
Wow that’s a great deal. I saw some of their YouTube videos but didn’t investigate more since I assumed they were based in Canada / couldn’t get it here.
