I swear I think I'm going crazy. I was looking through settings this morning and saw an option for the lights to flash when locking/unlocking. I feel this option did not exist before and perhaps it was done as a software update. Can anyone tell me if this existed the entire time. This whole time we were annoyed that there was so sign that the doors locked (thus the need for the alarm) and then i find this option.

 

After I changed some programming options with e-sys it add that option, but unless you have an alarm it doesn't change anything it you turn it on.

 

Of course.. I was confused about that option existing in the first place. What change do you think you did with esys that enabled this?

I'll double-check, but i dont' recall making that change. no reason to as i don't have the alarm. it would have to be something else.

have you taken your car in for service? mine had to go in for the leaky oil filter housing.

 

The option for flash on lock/unlock has always been present in the settings on my car. I turned it on when I took delivery.

If you don't have the alarm using the code for chirp on lock/unlock in the programming does nothing. I turned it to Aktiv when I was coding mine and it did nothing on mine. Was hoping it would but then again I don't have the alarm so I was not expecting it to work.

 

I had to turned it back on after software update.

I hate how they made only 1 flash for lock... It should flash more as you are not looking at your car most of the time.

 

Hmm...that's odd...

Every F5X and every R5X car I've seen has had that option to enable/disable flashing while locking/unlocking.

Of course, the beep while locking/unlocking is only present when the factory alarm system is installed.

 

I still "wish" for a chirp + lights flash but no way was I paying $500 for an alarm just to get the chirp.

I know it's possible to add one with a pizeo buzzer but I don't know where/which wires to tap to make it work.

 

I want it to flash the lights on every consecutive "lock" presses, but it only flashes once. I don't need chirp as I consider that as annoyance to neighbors.
