How may I add this feature to the car that I am about to order

Hello,

I am about to order to a new Mini 4 door hardtop and would like to add a feature similiar to On Star to this car. Mini USA was contacted as well as the dealer that I about to purchase from. Both said that they knew of no option. Reason of importance for the On Star feature wife and children drive the vehicle in rural NC. I have been in an accident previously and just pushed the button for help and appreciated the help of a live person to talk to and being located immediately on the back roads Suggestions would be appreciated.

BMW has an equivalent to OnStar called BMW Assist, but they have never offered it on MINI models.

In the owners manual it shows a picture of an SOS button exactly like the one in my parents bimmers' and has a disclaimer stating it is optional equipment, being that it's a US owners manual I suspect that it is an option, probably in the 'Driver's Assistance Package', I don't know whether or not you can spec it in the U.S. but it's there.

Definitely not an option in the US. The owners manual (even the US ones) will sometimes talk about features we just don't have here. The heated windshield is a good example. It's been mentioned in the owners manuals all the way back to my '11 CM, but it has never been offered in the States.
