polishing plastic speedo lens

The plastic speedo lens is very easily scratched during cleaning. Does anyone have any recommendations for polishing out the scratches? Its really annoying especially in bright sun light. Thanks

I think automakers make clusters out of the most delicate plastic possible. I've used Griot's Garage Plastic Polish. Seems to do the trick.

Toothpaste usually works good on plastics.

But what kind? Whitening? Cavity-protection plus whitening? Tartar control? Peppermint? Spearmint? Cinnamon? Should we floss? Mouthwash? Give us some guidance!!

It's depending on your choosen packages: salt, pepper or chilli. That is the hidden message on which toothpaste flavour that will work. Take the wrong one, and the car will self-destruct.
Cinnamon is an easter-egg and will give your engine +15bhp.

Be very careful. I'm not even sure I'd recommend a microfiber, as dust that has landed on the lens will scratch away at it when you're swirling your cloth around. Gently, always gently.

Simply use a quality air duster, and avoid touching the lens as much as possible is the advice I'd offer!

On our 2008 & 2009 MINIs we used a microfiber cloth and SprayWay Glass Cleaner. No issues or observed scratches.

Hekla is too new to need cleaning....
