Speed limits: MINI Heaven!

I saw this sign today on Highway 128 just northeast of Moab, Utah. It doesn't get any better!

For some reason the thumbnail won't open for me. Mind letting me in on the secret? We're planning a major road trip for next spring and Moab is on the agenda.

Thanks, Ship. That did the trick, obviously photoshoped but still...
Of course, any MINI person who's been down the road already knows to just add 40 to any yellow speed sign.
Never the less, we are more than looking forward to motoring thru that part of the country next spring. Looks fantastic.

When my 2007 MCS was new there was a Mini "gathering" in Moab organized by someone from Salt Lake City and advertised on NAM. I went and there were maybe 15-20 Minis there. I'll tell you one thing: Dead Horse Point State Park has views of the Colorado and Green River canyons that put the Grand Canyon to shame. You could throw 3 Grand Canyons down in there. And hardly anyone knows about it. Arches isn't bad either. We stayed on the Colorado in a nice lodge for Thanksgiving one year. Nice place, Moab.

I just wrote that up in my 'Big Trip' file including getting there via Long Canyon road between Rt 279 and Rt 313. Looks like there are several Jeep rentals in Moab as the Brick does not like gravel roads at all. The pictures are fantastic and we all know pictures really do nothing justice.

Moab is known for offroading, and the river. Canyonlands National Park just south of Moab is full of Jeep trails and campgrounds for them. You file sort of flightplan at the office tell them where you're headed for how long. You can rent all kinds of stuff in town. Back in the day there were more millionaires per capita than NYC. Why? Uranium!
