Hydro unit dsc/control

If we had a technical questions area I would put this question there.

Does anyone know what this box mounted above the passenger side wheel arch does? Do you think there is a reason that it is mounted on top rather than on it's side?
The part number on mine (34526864415) is not for EDC although my car does have this option. I wonder if they installed the wrong part...

Thanks to anyone with some insight on this.

Based on what real oem says I think it has something to do with your suspension. If you have sport mode in your car I think it works with that. Look up mini variable damper control on line and see what it says.

Martin- It is part of the Dynamic Damper control. When you unplug it your selection of suspension makes no difference. I spoke to my Mini Tech today and he said I should move it then bring the care by and they can check for error codes. He is pretty experienced and he is not sure if it can be calibrated in any position. At the moment it is horizontal. It takes up a great space for an amp so that is why I ant to move it if possible.
