Anyone know what the most current and updated software version should be?

I don't think you can get artwork over Bluetooth. Just via USB.

Thanks. I am using USB. It just doesn't show the correct artwork. Gets stuck on the first song and then continues to stay there.

Hard to tell if you have the most current software version.

MINI's connected web site has a download available, however, the release notes are from 2013 so I would not recommend downloading/installing it.

You may check with your dealer, they should know the current version available.

EDIT - Reading another forum regarding this same subject, it looks like non-nav F56 vehicles should have
Media: MV-010.012.001
Phone: TV-010.012.001

This is a confirmed version supporting Spotify/Beats artwork and steering wheel controls. Based on numbers alone my non-nav F56 software is older than above, yet my artwork is fine.

Nav enabled F56 vehicle owners are reporting
Media: MN-002.045.001
Phone: TN-002.045.002

There are no confirmed reports on the Nav enabled software version above that artwork displays, however, no on specifically asked. Several people are discussing the differences and the consensus is that MV and TV are the newer releases. I don't know this to be a fact by any means though.

Worth mentioning since you have an iPhone 6. iOS 8 ruined Mini connect for me. Before on 7 everything worked perfectly, now not so much.
  • No automatic playing when the car starts
  • Inconsistent album art display
  • Steering wheel controls no longer work
  • You have to tell the phone to play when selecting a new song/artist
  • General buggy issues switching back and forth between telephone and media
  • Any input on the connected system while listening to bluetooth other than with the physical arrows does not work ie: changing a song with the idrive controller

It's super frustrating considering before it was flawless. :/

That's very frustrating. I bought the car around the same time I updated to iOS 8. Music control has been spotty with my iPhone since the beginning.

So while I was at work last night I got an update from spotify on my iPhone. It didn't say much other than it was an update for "bug fixes". I left work and figured, what the hell, let's see if it corrected anything. I'm excited to say that spotify is now fully supported. When you plug your phone into the USB, it is now fully functional as it should be. The home screen on the iPhone now has the spotify icon and the Mini logo underneath it similar to how your iPhone looks when you launch the Mini Connected app. Spotify works flawlessly, correct album art and song info is shown, and everything can be controlled via the idrive and entertainment system. I am super excited with this update!!! :-) :-) :-)

P.S. Being that it defaults to a screen similar to mini connected when launched on the iPhone, you lose functionality of multitasking on your phone if you try and go to another screen or app. It will stop the music and then you must re-launch spotify. It will indeed start where you left off though. Looks like it's goodbye Beats and hello spotify
