This is very true. My OL date was 10/09, but I ended up getting a call the evening of 10/08 that it had arrived. The estimates should really be called guestimates. Good luck on your deliveries.

Looking at the truck picture again - the second S is the pepper white (silver gas cap --- duh). Missed that on first look. BTW that picture was taken 10/7 and was sent by my MA upon its arrival.

OL still says 10/8 delivery date for me.

I got an email on Monday at 8 am from the dealership saying that the car was supposed to be there by noon at the latest (yesterday).

I haven't heard a peep since. Going to go look at a few other cars tonight because we'll be over by the auto mall

I just got an email that says my car is on a truck heading for Portland. I am trying not to get too excited but I am really ready for it to get here.

13 unsold 2015 Hardtops in the inventory at my local dealer. How many truckloads of customer cars is that?

Between Long Beach and Torrance, CA I saw at least 3 dozen 2015 MC and MCS hardtops that were unsold units. What is the holdup on some of these sold vehicles not getting to their owners??

My dealer has my car listed in the inventory on their website. Plus they list the cars before they get them.

I saw a mixed truck of BMW's and 2015 hardtops being off loaded just yesterday at the MINI/BMW dealer in Ontario CA.

They probably had to go out of their way to get the sold cars that they PROMISED they would ship FIRST and the trucks that are used to going to the VDC maybe didn't know where this hanger was and why bother. So trying to be helpful to the sold customers they ended up messing things up a bit.

Now the OL says our car will be ready for pick up on the 13th after saying the 6th just earlier today. It looks like it did make it to the dealer but they can't get to it until Monday. Thank God this is almost over.

Picked up car today. Ordeal is over. Not 100% thrilled with car prep, but love the car. Lots, lots to learn. But they should also fire the person the came up with the menu structure. It's cool what's there, but what a hot mess figuring out what's where.

I sent my MA a pretty scathing note this morning at 7:30 am about the lack of communication. I copied the general manager also.

Result: No reply, no call

If they don't offer a decent discount after we waited for 7.5 months (maybe 8 months by the time I get a reply) I'll be taking my deposit back and just wait awhile longer for the new Miata.

My original delivery date per miniusa suppose to be 1st week of Oct be we all know what happened there then on miniusa they put 10/7/14 so dealer said 10/8/14 I was penciled in.. Didn't happen.. On Friday 10/10/14 called dealer he said it was now slated to be there at dealership on 10/20/14.. Monday 10/13/14 I checked my miniusa site and the deliver date had indeed changed from the 7th to the 20th so I am now penciled in to pick up mine on Tue. the 21st.. We'll see..

The new Miata is going to be a fun car!

Question, though ... how has your wait been almost 8 months? 8 months ago, the new 2014 F56 wasn't even out yet.

They were already taking orders! The F56 was announced over a year ago, they started taking orders in February at some dealerships.

Here is our timeline:

March 4th, 2014: Tried to place an order for a 2014 base Cooper hardtop with sport and premium packages (and a few other things)

March 18th, 2014: Notified by dealer that the Harmon Kardon option is not available, they will sell us the car anyway with no discount (and no HK option). We decide to wait.

Early June, 2014: Supply has caught up with the demand for the HK system, we go back to the dealer to place the order. We are notified that the 2014 cars are no longer available and that we have to wait for a MY 2015 now.

July 1st, 2014: We finally successfully place an order for a MY 2015 car with everything we want.

EPA hold occurs.

Transportation mixup occurs.

October 21st, 2014: We are notified that our Mini is actually at the local dealership!!!!

I plan to pick it up on Friday

Gotcha! Did not realize that you were initially trying to purchase a 2014 model, so that makes sense.

I will agree (and I am sure that MINI would as well if they could) that MINI has dropped the ball with the F56 launch. Never has there been more of an ongoing blunder! It really is crazy when you look at it.

Delayed initial launch making the product late to the market and dealers depleting inventory, delayed shipping to US, H/K supply issues, contrasting roof paint issues ... then certain option delays for 2014 to 2015 (black cosmos wheels, roof rails, driver assistance, JCW body kit), the famed EPA delay, further issues with dealer supply/inventory/sales figures, another pricing change/increase, lower/revised fuel economy numbers, further option delays/restrictions ... and now a delay with the F55 model to 1st quarter 2015 for the US.

Yikes!

I've been trying to get a car since April, the first month I spent convincing the dealer he could order what I want. In May we came to terms, but they didn't order the car until July, for some reason unknown to me. So now I'm still waiting. I've been given all sorts of meaningless dates.

Yuck. I know what I'd do, and it doesn't include ordering a car and waiting. I'd take a chill pill, tell 'em what you want and have 'em search for a similar car arriving at another dealer. If they find one go put down a deposit. That way the car is en route when you commit, and it gets hijacked to your local dealer. They can see what cars are coming where for dealer stock and I bet there are a lot at this point.

We picked up our 2015 on Friday!

I was already PO'd (if it wasn't obvious) going in there but they did a fantastic job of making up for all of the trouble.

The car was 100% ready to go, the staff was super nice (as always), the paperwork was short, and they set up a nice discount package.

The dealership even had a dozen roses on the passenger seat (the 2015 is my wife's car) for her as an apology along with a $500 gift certificate to the parts/accessories counter

All in all, the dealership was a total class act despite all of the trouble that was out of their control. Thanks Mini of Tucson!
