I think that is right, six days on the prod line then a day in the body shop and finally a day in the paint shop. Before the start of production there are usually a day or a few days of verifying they have all the correct parts and getting them queued properly. It's one of the time penalties we pay to have our cars built to our own unique spec.

I have to agree. For a company that relies so heavily on electronic (instead of printed) media, I think Mini has room for a bit of improvement. Especially true if you're a first-time Mini buyer, and aren't familiar with such things as R56 vs. F56 body style, etc. Unfortunately, it kind of soured the experience.

For those waiting for your 2015s to be released from "Delivery Stop", it would be interesting if you would post your experiences after you finally get your vehicle...what you expected, what you were told, and what eventually came with your Mini.

I found posts saying the 1st Gen MINI could be assembled in 24 hours and the 2nd Gen in 20 hours.

I doubt a car sits on the production line for 6 days.

I don't know what the process actually is but if you pay attention to the dates folks report in sigs and such almost all come out six to eight days. My own car was six days plus one day in body shop and one day in paint shop. I am sure that the total time working on each car is probably less than 24 hours but the line is not a single continuous line, more likely a series of small lines with queues at each.

Fun to speculate but none of us knows. The "official" word from the company seems to be " less than a week"

According to this website (what do they know?) it's 8 days. My experiences with my R56 and F56 say that it's about 8 days.
