F55/F56 Check engine light?

Check engine light?
So the orange engine symbol just came on in my car... I did all the system checks and everything says they are OK. The manual is very vague in what the symbol means, it just says engine functions. I made the sure the gas cap was secure but I can't find anything else. Car is driving normal. Any ideas?

No I don't have a code reader. Is the user manual supposed to say engine malfunction instead of just engine functions? I really want to see if anyone else had had a CEL at 700 miles on the clock yet and what it was for. I'll just have to schedule a a service apps. Really sucks there is only one mini dealer in the entire state of Oregon... I never even thought about that.

Is it MC 1.5L or MCS 2.0L?
Do you remember if the light came on while you were driving or as soon as you turn on the car?
I wonder if MC is like most other cars that would turn off certain CEL when the battery (-) terminal is disconnected for a few minutes and then reconnectred. ??? But, of course, if the problem still exists, the CEL would return.

Update on CEL
Update :
Emissions leak detection system failure. 700 miles on the clock and already something coming up. I hope this won't be an ongoing issue...
The dealership handled it beautifully, had me in and out in a loaner in an hour or so. They gave me a brand new s hardtop, those bastards. I can definitely feel a nice power bump, but I like the sound of b38 much better. I really regret not getting the sport seats and jcw steering wheel though, they are both nice upgrades. Not a fan of the auto, but partially because I was spoiled with dsg on my last auto. Overall the s is a sweet ride.
I am gonna see if they'll swap me wheels from the loaner to my car. I'm sure it's a long shot, but hey my cars in the shop at 700 miles so who knows.

That would throw the code P0442, if checked with a scanner.
The first recommended thing to do is to remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the trouble code using the scanner and driving for a few day to see if the codes come back. If the code returns, try a replacement gas cap. If the code still returns you will need to have the EVAP system inspected for leaks.
Did the Check Engine Light come on soon after refilling the fuel?

As stated in my first post gas cap was the first thing I checked. It was an actual sensor that failed, it is located some where under the rear seats. My mini dealership really took care of me. When I went in this morning they apologized for it being such a new car and gave me $500 credit to spend in parts, I didn't even have to ask... I'd Def recommend mini of Portland.

Same with my MCS at 1200 miles
Result:
From Dealer Printout :
Job #1) unfavorable DME programming as per SI M11 03 14
Found Fault code for oil pressure control
Programmed / coded with latest software update.
Test drove, operating as designed
Job #2) Journal Prefix IMCS ( I imagine this means record the job)

My light just came on this morning too. Did yours ever clear? Presuming there's nothing wrong that I can find, do you have any thoughts on how long I can drive around without taking it to the dealer. He's two hours away and I wasn't planning on going until mid November when I get my winter tires from him.

The computer/electronics in these cars seem to be very sensitive. I've have 2 warning lights in my short 1300 miles since ownership. My previous R56... not a single light or error code.
1 - Headlight self leveling malfunction. Got home, turned the car off, re-started car, headlights leveled and light gone.
2 - Check Engine for possible malfunction. Got home, turned the car off, opened the hood, engine was still there, re-started car, light gone.
Go figure on both.
