I haven't read the owner's manual but can someone explain what this meter actually indicates? The one in green.
the midline shifts from left to right but I can't exactly tell what it is.

The white line indicates coasting, to the left indicates braking, to the right indicates accelerating. The idea is to stay as close to the white line as much as possible. Don't accelerate too fast, and don't brake too rapidly. Hope that helps.

OK I get what's going on now. thanks for the explanation. ☺
After trying "Green" for a highway drive, I just keep it in Mid-mode. The Mini is not expensive to gas up, hardly gained any extra miles during that trip, and feels anemic in Green mode. Just my 2-cents.

If you think going from Green to Mid in exciting, go from Green to Sport.
I just keep it in sport all the time unless I'm on the highway then I use mid. It's all about how you drive that makes the gas mileage difference. I like having that extra power there at all times.

So true!
I just drive in Mid mode and still get 37 MPG "average" in my 60-mile daily commute in traffics. The Green mode gives you only feeling of driving a whimpy hybrid while not yielding any measurable gain in MPG than the Mid mode.
