if carly can do it that means ncsexpert can do it easily too, that's a 10 min job vs messing around with harnesses and crap

You can disable asd using either carly or bimmercode apps now. Easy as!

I used the BimmerCode App to modify numerous settings and it worked great!
I have a 2015 F56 S.

I'm one of the few who isn't bothered by the ASD in my F55. I think it's nicely tuned and it does the job of entertaining me without annoying those outside the car.

BUT… I just had a loaner 2018 Countryman ALL4 for a couple days, and holy spit, they turned ASD up to 11 and it's awful.

On my F55, the ASD just adds a little to what's already there. On that 2018 Countryman, it's all there is. It's loud, like it's trying to be a diesel and failing. On the highway, it makes the whole car drone. Can't imagine it on a long trip.

In sport mode it's even worse. Same but louder. Not even an adjustment to be more growly or anything like my F55 gets.

In Green mode with ASD inactive, the engine is nearly silent at cruise. The sound deadening in the F60 is really quite good (compared to my spouse's R60 or my F55). Road noise from the run-flats is there but that's almost it.

I think MINI screwed up ASD in the Countryman. They may have been trying to make up for the excellent job they did of isolating engine noise from the cabin, but they over-corrected.

Which makes this thread even more relevant than ever.

I had same experience in an 18 CM S loaner. ASD was insanely loud to the point that it gave me a headache.

Old thread, I know, sorry (!), but for anyone coming across this we also have an ASD defeat harness: https://integralaudio.com/active-sou...-and-mini.html. Ours has nice little labels as well, for anyone who wanted to hack it for a signal wiring harness and pull the flat signal coming from the HU.

Has anyone recognized ASD turning off after a bluetooth phone call while in Sport Mode? I've definitely run into this glitch after hanging the call up. You can surely hear the "raw" sound of the engine and how there's not much noise other than that in the cabin. After a red light or two, it seems to kick back in.

I've also recently run into situations at faster speeds on the highway in Sport Mode--the pressure in the cabin seems to affect the pressure in my ears. I'm 100% ok says my doctor, but I swear there's a pressure issue and I cannot contain where it's coming from. May just be wearing tires.

Old thread I see. The Bimmerapp says if ASD were to be altered it could cause an issue with the ECU. Not going there.
Has anyone used the integral audio connector with the Dinan Elite? Is there another "safe" way to disable the ASD?

Don't recall reading of people having issues with coding out the ASD. The harnesses should work well, either from Integral Audio or Technicpnp, both do the same thing.

Yeah, agreed. Not sure where they're getting that info from, ASD module only receives. Even so, our harness does not disable or alter the ASD module. If you look at that picture above you'll see that the power and CAN signals still go to the ASD module, and it remains functional and on the CAN bus. We do that (same as we do with OEM amps and other components with our Soundstage™ and other harnesses) so that there is no change to any vehicle components. If you were to go to a dealership for service and they did a software upgrade the ASD module will show as present and fully functional, and any software upgrade to it will complete successfully.

AFAIK ASD is in S models and not the 3 cylinder version. Could be that it was already coded out or bypassed if you bought used. It is pretty obvious in sound roaring when it works.

I didn't realize Green mode disabled ASD no wonder it's quieter. I might take a gamble and try the BimmerApp before plopping down $55. 5K in performance parts but can't pony up $55 Lol. :-)

Help!!!! I got Vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth 4.0 adapter- plugged it in- all looked good- then deactivated ASD- then unplugged it- and ASD never gets deactivated. What am I missing?
Resolved. I thought the purchase price upgrade was for the advanced items. So it amounts to $75 to shut off ASD!

Does anyone know how to determine if you have the "physical" ASD module in your MINI, without removing the rear passenger door panel drivers side rear boot panel? I've been trying to Bimmercode ASD in my '19 F55 S (LCI) with no luck. The LCI seems to have a few limitations especially in regard to Bimmercode settings (in some sections). For instance, my MINI doesn't have a separate section in the main screen for "Head_Unit".

Also, does anyone have a '19 F55 S (LCI) or later where the ASD in fact does work?

I have the ASD module in jy MINI. So now I just need to find a person who has a '19 F55 S (LCI or Later e.g., '20+) that has ASD working so that I might be able to copy the settings they see when in Bimmercode.

Thank you!
