F55/F56 Install a CD player in a 2015?

There's a cd/DVD changer that fits in the compartment that is above the glove box. I'm not sure if it's a dealer installed accessory or factory. I still love my cd's

No one is ridiculing anyone, rather just having a little harmless fun.
Damn......over sensitive much?

No, simply frustrated at the difficulty of finding straight answers...and also suddenly finding out that the car I ordered a week ago didn't have the option I ordered after the change between the 2014s and the 2015s. Now I have to do it all over again.

Thanks--one more question while we're at it. I've been told that the DVD only plays videos when the car is "in park," whatever that means for a manual. That surely wouldn't apply to audio, would it?
And no, I'm not calling you surely... (Old joke for those of us old enough to remember the movie.)

I don't have the DVD to try myself, but like others mentioned, DVDs are backwards compatible with CDs. I've never seen a DVD player that doesn't play CDs.
As for playing video, I assume that would be the case that it'd only play in park. I did put a video file into mine via USB and it would play when parked no problem, but stopped when in drive. For manual I'd assume it would stop playback when placed into gear? But yeah, if you've got an audio CD in, it'll go no problem!
6-disc changer does seem expensive (what BMW/MINI option isn't!) but I remember from an earlier thread on this issue you said you've got 100s of audio book CDs that you listen to, so it probably would be very useful for your needs. If I didn't live about 1000 miles away I'd definitely try to show you how to rip things from a CD to MP3 files to use the USB/Hard Drive that's built in, but even then, I imagine that'd take days to convert your audiobook collection!

SERIOUSLY???! What fool engineer did that?
Yeah, I have a couple of Discmans (Discmen?) around here for beddy-by time. They don't play MP3 discs, which I get from time to time, but they're otherwise probably about the best portable player around.
Incidentally, if you're wondering why I have a bunch of CD audiobooks, it's because I sell them. I buy them wholesale, 50 to 100 at a time, and temporarily divert an interesting title until I have a chance to listen to it. I have about 2500 listed on Ebay, another 1500 or so ready to process, and about 100 on my listening shelf. I personally only listen to nonfiction, but carry everything from kiddie stuff to steamy romances to self-help. Need to learn Urdu? I can help.

Thanks everyone for all the useful information. I think I'll bite the bullet and reorder, much as I hate to delay things. Shouldn't be too bad, though.
Hubby reports his Bimmer is leaking coolant, and the Porsche has a wheel bearing going out (it's 50 years old, so it's allowed). Today he further reported that my MINI is leaking coolant, too. How DO these cars communicate???
