Will R56 TPMS work on F56

So I have an extra set of TPMS for my R56 and I was wondering if it will work for the F56 since I plan to get a new set of wheels for my F56. I intend to keep my original wheels for winter tires.

Good question, I wonder if many people have changed their tires and looked at the wheel with the sensor attached still. I would look to see if they look the same then go for a look at marking on it. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

I'd say call Alex at Tire Rack. He'll know. I think.

According to the research I've done, the Tire Pressure Sensor on the F56 operates at 433 MHz. That's the same frequency that Mini's been using since it was switched sometime early in the '10 model year.

Hopefully, that means that TPMS from '10 to current should all be the same?

If that is the case then I don't see why it wouldn't work. I'll reach out to Alex at tirerack and see if he can give me a confirmation.

Edit: Unfortunately, Alex is out this week so I reached out to a random person at tirerack and according to their database, the TPMS part no for the R56 and F56 are different but it doesn't say what frequency it operates on.

Although if it is the same frequency, I would think that it should work.

They are actually different. F56 uses BMW's latest sensor similar to the ones the new 3, 4, 5 series use.

^that is quite likely. I already checked with tire rack to see if my previous gen 3 series tpms would work and he said even though the mhz is the same the actual sensors are different.
