First Fault

Pulling into my parking space after commuting home this afternoon and this little jem popped up on the screen. I shut down the car and restarted it and the problem was gone. Called the dealership and they said it could have just been a glitch and to not worry about it unless it pops up again.

^Hope it's not the ABS control module, after you get that message, does the car still intervene in hard cornering and braking the rear inner wheel? If the stability control/traction control gets turned off in the middle of driving it could cause you to lose control at the limits (it could over-steer if you turn sharp and lift off for example, it happened to me on another car). Have the dealer read the codes off the computer - it should store them even after the message is gone-and it goes away probably after you turned the car off and on again, right?

Yeah, the fault went away as soon as I turned the car off and back on again. I haven't driven it since I got home to notice any changes in the driving dynamics, but will keep an eye on it this evening.

Was actually a VERY tame trip home, some slower 50mph highway and mixed 20-30mph city surface streets. About a total of about 10 miles if I had to make a guess.

Did you see Dr. Mini's post "New MINI Drivetrain Malfunction"? Apparently, he also had the chassis stabilization/drive moderately message come up. His is at the dealership and the service department is consulting with the engineers.
