I'm about to order a 2014 MC. I know we're close to the time the 2015's will enter production.

Any changes expected on the 2015's?

Nobody knows yet what the changes might be. Any mention of changes at this point, for the most part, are going to be just guesses and opinions.

Seems to me there was a mention of an 8-speed automatic, but I don't know if it was meant for the '15s or the MINIs that get manufactured in '15.

6-speeds seems adequate to me, altho auto makers keep increasing the number. Of course, increasingly complicated and/or new components can lead to lower reliability.

Frankly, I think they should have called our F56s "2015s" -- the nearly all-new Mustang arriving about the same time is a 2015. A year newer car arriving 5 months after the F56 hit our shores shows a disregard for us early adopters.

Hopefully mini adds the Driving Assistant Package, which is lacking in the 2014 US model.

I will say that the 8SA that I have mated to my 328 N20 is the best automatic transmission that I've ever driven....and I'm usually a manual guy.

changing to a 8 speed auto after only a few months of production is not a minor change....I would not be counting on this.

Would hate to be feeling like a 2010 Mustang owner when the 2011's rolled out.

Does anyone know when the official change over to 2015 happens? My MA believes any orders going in now (June build) would be 2015.

Possibly more ... (POWER) could happen.

I read somewhere the 2015 may have the factory JCW body kit as an option. Not the JCW model, just the body kit. I hope they do it I love that option. There were pix of it last year somewhere.

My dealer mentioned the JCW exterior package and roof rails (both options I'm looking to order) in MY15. Hope he's right...

There's confusion on whether the adding of standard fog lights and auto AC to 2015 "R" models also applies to the 2015 F56. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I went in to the dealer's to order a 2014 MC. I wanted the hk sound and a white roof. I couldn't even order the car. I'll probably end up with a 2015 if I do buy a MINI.

I sent my configuration to the dealer a few days ago. I'm pissed they didn't let me know I couldn't even order a car. It would have saved me a long trip. I want the MINI but may now look elsewhere.

Hopefully the return of Chili Red for all models. As an R53 Chili Red owner interested in the F56 it is disappointing. It's such a classic MINI color now. I've seen Blazing Red on an F56 and would never buy one. Not sure why they are forcing it as JCW only now, except for more profit.

This has been an ongoing problem recently, but apparently June builds are not having this problem at some dealers. It probably just depends on your dealers allotment and how many build slots they have left. Sorry :(

Couldn't agree more! I have the 8-speed ZF transmission in my Z4 Sdrive28i. Best auto trans I have ever driven.

However, there are no plans for the ZF8-speed to be used in the F56 or any MINI. ZF has designed and built a new compact 9-speed version of that transmission (currently used in the Jeep Cherokee and new Renegade) that was designed with the new MINI in mind. MINI hesitated on bidding on it and Fiat/Chrysler got an exclusive until 2015, I think. So it may be introduced in the 2016 F5x MINI models.
