I have a 13 Justa Clubman. I went for the Mini Event at Mini of Dallas and test drove the AUTO and the Manual.


The manual S was fast, responsive and I loved it. The auto did not have the same feel to it and never felt like it was in the right power band for when I needed it.


The HUD was cool. I will definitely order it. There are two different types of screens for the connected - one is bigger. THis is according to the dealer. Streaming Bluetooth worked great.


The leather seats were comfortable and had no problems with them. The cloth seats did not feel the same and would not be comfortable if you are a bigger person or have a larger back.


The engine would turn off and restart at every traffic light. not sure if I liked that or not, but it can be disabled.


The inside LED's and the speedo ring were nice and not annoying as I thought it would be. The window switches are in the door which didn't feel like a mini to me.


The rear sunroof was fixed in place and did not open or move. Different than my Clubbie.




I will be ordering the Clubman when it comes out. The new engine with the manual was really the selling point and felt like a little rocket.


YMMV, this is IMHO.

 

Nice review. When you tested the manual, were you in the Sport mode? There is a real different in acceleration between Sport and Mid/Green modes. Especially between Green and Sport. I find myself constantly switching from Mid to Sport. I'm sure it using more fuel, but the fun factor jumps. I love it!
