Been Awaiting Transport for 2 weeks

How hard is it to find a ship. lol I guess since I live in Denver, it is going to a west Coast port. I read that a ship going to the east left this week. I'm guessing 3 weeks to a month after it leaves that it will arrive at my dealer? Gonna have a chat with my dealer though...early April my a**. lol

Yeah, the trip across the pond to the west coast requires going through the Panama Canal, extending the time. Hopefully you'll see the status changed to En Route this week. I think mine was in the Awaiting Transport status for about 1 1/2 weeks.

One guys' order has alread shipped to SoCal. He said it loaded 3/4, to dock in SoCal 3/38, to dealer 4/10. That's the earliest one I've seen on this forum.

Ya...I went into this thinking May 1....the dealers are always a bit optimistic in their delivery dates.

I read somewhere that from Southampton to the Cali port is roughly a 21 day voyage.

I think your batch is held up due to the need to go through federal certification. My hope is that once that certification is done, subsequent deliveries to the vehicle processing center won't have any delays in moving on to the dealers.

Hope you're right, Bob. Otherwise, I don't plan to receive my car until June!

I will likely find out more on Monday or Tuesday because my MINI should arrive in Baltimore Sunday or Monday. I can then call the Hotline to see how long it will be before it moves on to my dealer. I will post up any info I get at that time.

Just to clarify - my order is a '14 R57. I was empathizing with the wait times. So the certification does not apply in my case. Cheers.

Highclass grey. Tried to order it in Reef Blue back in January but that color was out of production so I went with the "purplish" highclass grey. I had a midnight black 2010 convertible that I sold and really missed. Most fun car I had ever owned so am looking forward to being back in a MINI.

Stuck in "Awaiting Production" status ever since.

I am so bad at waiting and this is torture!

The information you're receiving at the Owner's Lounge may not be up to date.

I had that same "Awaiting Transport" notice for 15 days. When it finally changed to "En Route" and I called ASK MINI to find out what boat I was on so I could track it, I found it had left port three days prior!

Sounds nice. Funny you mention about it being a "fun car". That exactly is how I feel about my new MCS. After I drove it on Thursday afternoon I had such a sensation of pure enjoyment. I love everything about the car. "Fun" car is a perfect adjective!

My MCS is showing a production date of 3/26, so I guess it's ready to get on the ship. Wow!! The lounge still shows as scheduled for production.

Thanks for the BMW website.

That's about what I experienced. 3-4 day lapse. You can call the MINI Hotline for a more up to date status.
