I am one of the new guys on the block, trading my VW Fahrenheit for a F56. I am not an "enthusiast", never owned a Mini. I can't use the R53 or R56 as a reference. One thing though, we (myself, wife and teenage daughter) loved the F56 when we saw it the first time. We loved the exterior and interior look and the performance that we decided to order one.

I've only ever driven a mini once (2010 justa hardtop), I loved the ride and loved the new features and look of the 14' so I ordered an S. Should be here by the end of next week!
I'm passing through San Antonio tx and stopped at the dealer to check it out in person....I love it even more. Because I'm not a mini fanatic who knows every little inch of it I don't compare it to the r56.
My impressions have no negatives right now.
The one I looked at was volcanic orange, manual without NAV or the arm rest. Sport seats are very snug, I liked em but I can see if your a wider person you might not like em. Speakers looked fine...
Layout and design was all good.
Sadly I didn't get to drive it, I made the mistake of telling them mine was on the boat...after that they would give me the keys.
My biggest thing was how sturdy and well built it feels. Doors are not flimsy interior feels like its quality made.
As far as all the negatives no car will appeal to everyone, they design it to appeal to what they think is the largest population of buyers. I'd say they nailed it.
Can't wait to play with mine!

Hahaha... I'm from San Antonio... Yes, we probably looked at the same Volcanic Orange MCS. The same care that convinced us to buy the F56.
