My stripes seem to be quite discolored in some spots, is this a warranty item?

Yes I tried, Quick detailer, some mild abrasive compounds etc, they helped a good amount but didn't fix the issue fully.

 

Should be if still under the new car warranty and they cannot say it was from a tree or from a bird. On the R58 roof they had this early spotting issue and mine where replaced.

I have a 2016 2 door S, and took mine off but did not pursue help through MINI. Instead, I found this source for stripes. The stripes were pre-cut for our model and are really high quality for $29! Super easy to install and the folks at this company are really helpful with questions:

Request laminated stripes from these folks. I replaced mine with laminated 8 years ago and they still look like new. THEN, after a clay bar (don't clay bar the stripes!) and wash treatment, give them and the rest of the vehicle a thorough waxing with carnauba wax..
