I have a 2014 Mini Cooper Coupe "S" and the factory stripes are changing colors. I keep my Mini Clean and noticed that with this weeks rain that My Spice Orange stripes are fading and turning bleached off white. The Black Stripes are also stained. Again those who know me know how picky I am about keeping my Mini Clean and I even keep it under a Car Port while at home. Only time it's out in the open is while at work. Does anyone know what the policy is for replacing the stripes and if it is covered?

 

When I bought my '13 JCW coupe the black stripes on the roof were faded. My dealer replaced the faded stripes under warranty, no hassles or worry immediately after I bought it. You likely have a good case for having them replaced under warranty.

 

It is the reason I am happy I have no stripes on mine. They would be "cooked" in the desert climate after just a few months and would look bad. I wax my cars three times every year and it is barely enough for our harsh desert climate.

I am sure your dealer will replace them if you are still under warranty.

 

Pedro, they are covered under warranty. I'd give it a try at one of our local dealers. They may need to order the replacements, so it could be two trips.

 

When I bought my JCW Coupe the stripes were perfect, and the car had been on the dealer lot for 9 months but not driven much when I bought it. After a couple washes the black stripes on the roof started to fade grey, but the red stripes on the hood/boot were fine. The dealer said they'd order new ones under warranty. But I just had them remove the black ones entirely because the car is gray, and they didn't exactly match the paint. I like the red roof with no stripes, you don't really see them like you do the hood stripes (which are still fine).

 

Give them a try if under warranty. Some some of the top stripes fade.

I heard its was a bad first batch for the 2012's.
