Need assistance

so, the deal is... I bought a 2015 Cooper non s auto a few weeks ago. When I bought I I realized the USB port and cigarette lighter were not working. To clarify, this is a non connected base stereo car. I figured it was fuse related and searched the forums and found the fuse in question for the cigarette lighter. The problem I’m having is the lighter now works but the USB port does not charger or even say it’s charging when connected to my iPhone. The odd thing is, it will play music from my phone via the usb but not send a charge back to the device. The phone doesn’t even realize it is connected. Any tips? I’m assuming it’s another fuse but I’ve searched and couldn’t find which one it is. Thanks in advance!

It's probably not strong enough amperage to power the phone and run it to the radio. This is a common issue when newer phones use so much more power, and the cars trend upgraded as much as phones.

This isn't it, thanks for the reply. The charging icon doesn't even come on. The phone doesn't know it's plugged in. Even the smallest ampage would trigger the charging icon.

What is the condition of the car battery? MINIs do some weird things when battery isn't up to par. Just went through this with our Countryman.

It's like new, it's under warranty I just don't want to drive all the way out to get it fixed. I made an appointment for the am tomorrow so I'll update the thread when they fix with the issue. Thanks everyone!
