MINI is retiring the Clubman

In case you missed the news, MINI is dropping the Clubman after the 2024 model year. I knew this was coming eventually, but I hoped it would be another year or two.

Pour one out for the least appreciated MINI, even though it's their 2nd best model after the hardtop.

Yep, got one as a loaner local and its a nice MINI.

Maybe they will come back in a different form. I was at the launch party for the old R55 Clubman

Loved my first Clubby. Love my current 2020 even more. When the lease ran out on my 2020, I bought it. Never done that before, but love knows no bounds.

We currently have a 2019 that just turned 4 years and only about 22k miles, but we may end up ordering a new one later this year. Not the best financial decision I'm sure, but my wife likes driving a wagon and it's the best for sale in the US by a large margin. We have a few months to mull it over.

I've seen rumors that they're going to style the 4 door more like the Clubman, but I don't know if that will scratch the itch or not. She hates the current 4 door with a passion.

We stopped by the dealer yesterday and chatted a bit with our favorite MA/Sales Manager. She said the new configurator is supposed to be live by the end of March, but the changes are pretty minimal. We're planning to order another JCW sometime this summer. Fingers crossed the options we want won't be impacted by shortages.

I really hope they come out with something interesting to fill the gap left by the Clubman, but considering America's love of crossovers I'm not holding my breath.

My understanding is that the clubman is being replaced by the electric aceman. https://www.mini.com/en_MS/home/prod...pt-aceman.html
The last clubman I would consider is the 2019, because I refuse to drive an automatic.

Sorta, except the Aceman is a crossover vs a wagon and isn't being sold in the US.

I remember seeing a rumor forever ago that they were going to lengthen the next gen 4-door and square off the rear to look more like the Clubman, but I haven't read anything similar in a long time, so who knows if that is still the plan.

I read the news on https://www.motoringfile.com/2023/02...ubman-is-dead/
I put a deposit on both a 2020 Countryman JCW and a 2021 Clubman JCW. When I heard about the Clubman's retirement I purchased the 2021 Clubman JCW. It'll prob have a better resale in a few years because of its demise.... But who am I kidding I LOVE THIS CAR! I had to replace my 2018 Countryman SE which was totaled when it hit a deer!

Glad I grabbed one up.

I awoke in early November and told my understanding wife that I had dreamt about taking delivery of a Clubman. I was surprised that she let that comment pass without a sarcastic response, considering we had both an '05 R52 and a '21 F60 SE in the garage already. When I looked at my nearest dealership they had just posted a '19 BRG/ white roof Clubman S All4 that morning. We quickly grabbed it up and love it so much. Get em while you can and so much for waiting on NextGen electric MINIs. Guess I am shopped out.
