Turbo Downpipe F54 Cooper S

Good day NAM Members,

Has anyone installed an aftermarket Turbo Downpipe with SportCat on a MINI F54 Clubman Cooper S?
If so, what brand and what are your thoughts?

It is time for the next step in performance upgrades, and I have been searching for some time, and all the websites for performance upgrades have a downpipe in their inventory, but when I look it up on the manufacturer website, the only model indicated for this application is the MINI F56.
So my question is, does the same downpipe fit the F54?

Thanks,

Speedy-218

I have not installed a sportscat DP, but I did just install a Miltek catless DP over the weekend on my F54 Clubman S. Near pristine fit, and just had to finagle some stuff into place (as most aftermarket stuff is always a little off). DPs shouldn't be an issue if they were made for the F56 body. Intercoolers are another story, as the crash bar / slam panel can differ between the F54 and F56. Shouldn't have too many issues if you've found one that's for the F56.

Hello Chirospasm,
Thanks for your reply!
I have had contact with the ECS Tuning sales representative and he confirmed that there are some alternatives for the MINI Clubman.
Now it’s just a matter of pulling the trigger and order the DP.
How does your MINI Clubman perform with the new DP?
Saludos,

It performs excellently! I do have a tune from RPM Power (through Detroit Tuned, who's one of the few groups doing RPM Power Tunes in the states), which takes advantage of my catless DP / larger intercooler. That's something to take into consideration, power wise.

Outside the tune, though, a sports or catless DP will certainly have a far more aggressive sound -- more pops and bangs. It'll ensure everything flow nicely. You might gain some HP.

Thanks for the update!
On my MINI I have installed an Eventuri CAI, FTP Motorsport intake/charge pipes, Ignition Projects coils, custom free flow cat-back exhaust, Wagner Intercooler and a stage 1 custom tune.
The reason I want to go to a sportcat DP is to keep the car fully street legal here in the Netherlands and also stay away from the noise police. The car is already locked into sport mode with Bimmercode and cold starts are fun😂🤣.
Will keep you updated about the DP install, I also would like to have the DP ceramic coated before install to keep the temperatures in check.
Thanks again👍

Oh, awesome! We have very similar setups, then. The sportscat DP should be a breeze, and probably perform just as well as catless. I'm not familiar with the Ignition Project coils -- what performance benefits have you gotten out of them in your F54? Were they worth the cost? Thanks!

Hello,
The ignition coil’s were one of the first modifications that I did, throttle response is crispier and the engine rpm climbs quicker.
But I can’t really say that it was worth it. These coils are not cheap, my tuner could see some improvement over stock, but said that the stock system is powerful enough.
Hope that helps!
