I keep getting bugs stuck in my back lights. The dealer says it’s not a problem, but they look gross with a chrome behind it. I figured I’d get some stick on trim and paint it body color. Might as well get the fronts to match when I’m doing it.

Anyone have experience with the stick on light trim from SMPS2012? Does it hold up in winter and sever weather? I know 3M automotive tape is very good. I’d prefer to paint some OEM chrome ones so it will fit cleanly and flush, but removing the exterior chrome is usually a problem, even with degreaser or easy off...and the black trim is wildly expensive compares to chrome.
