Can you have drive mode ring without DCC?

I’m looking for the pictographs on my screen when I shift drive mode ring into sport mode, or scroll through menus to put tighter “suspension” while in mid mode, but I can’t find the option to do so. Am I missing something?

Not sure, but on my R58 when I put it in the Sport mode there's an "S" next to the "D" when I put the tranny in Drive (DS instead of D).

Drive modes are unrelated to DDC.

4VA Mini Driving Modes

223 Dynamic Damper Control

That is the way my car shows up on bimmer.work

When you asked about DDC a few weeks ago I went and checked my setup. I thought you could also set DDC in Mid Mode. But I was mistaken - the only option to set DDC to firm or soft is in Sport Mode.

So below is the picture from a few weeks ago (to save finding the original post).

Perhaps a more accurate description is that DDC isn't so much 'Dynamic' as more 'Binary Damper Control in Sport Mode.' But that doesn't look so great in a brochure. Having said all that DDC is still one of my favourite features in the F54.

To answer the original question clearly: yes. I ordered my car new, I have the drive mode ring without DCC. Basically, I just didn't order the sport package. They have, of course, changed the way options are bundled over the years, so it's possible that in later years they were not available separately.

Yup, don’t have it...

Base on the replies and help from this thread, I was able to check the options codes for my car and found out...that I don’t have DCC. So apparently the sport mode changes totally fooled my seat of the pants driving impressions. Oh well...I did learn something new nevertheless.

So it seems to me that the best way to achieve what you are trying to do would be to put the car in sport mode and then only select chassis. Then none of the drivetrain stuff changes. So its basically mid mode with stiffer suspension.
