Just for info, I'm owner of F54 Cooper Diesel(I think this engine is not imported into the USA),2017 model, engine B47, stock 150HP and 330Nm. European emissions standard EURO6,no AD Blue. Mpg tested by me on 7000km is 44 US Miles/Gallon.ECU is EDC17C50,engine Twin Power Turbo. I tuned for 210HP and 430Nm, Car run like a charm now, on Sport mode, after 1300rpm no turbo lag, tested on highway for 145Mph.
Nope, no diesel models of any MINI available in the US. Up until the dieselgate scandal it was really only VW, BMW and a couple of others who sold diesel cars anyway. After that, diesel is dead in the US (unless it's a truck).
For the record, in the regular gas Clubman (All4) I just averaged 39mpg over an 800mi trip a couple of weeks ago. Interstate with AC on all the way. Before the Clubby we had a VW TDI wagon and only very rarely did I see >40mpg with it. At the time diesel was also not as widely available (in the northeast you can only find it at ~50% of gas stations, and usually only one pump) and it was more expensive than premium gas. For most Americans (me included) it's just not worth the extra up-front cost for a 2-3 mpg bump. Waaay long ago it would have been a toss-up between hybrid vs. diesel (and the VW models did drive significant numbers away from the prius), but now you can get close to 40mpg from a regular gas engine even without any fancy tech, who wants to bother paying $5-10k more to save $200 a year in gas costs?
I'm intrigued by your central-cluster... that's a different screen that we have on the US clubman. Seems smaller and more letterbox shaped?
Here in Europe we pay for Diesel 5.20$/gallon, and if you run 40.000-50.000miles/year, fuel economy mean a lot of cash, without talking about huge torque for a 2.0l engine.
