I've been getting occasional surging in my 2017 Clubman S ALL4 with the 8 speed sport auto trans in around town cruising between 35 and 50mph. No check engine light. Applying more gas to change the speed usually fixes it. I've got just over 24k miles on the odometer. I may take it in to the Mini dealer, but being that it only happens occasionally I'm doubtful they'll be able to reproduce the problem.

Anyone experienced this?

 

I have the same model/year with ~30K on the clock and can say I haven't ever noticed any surging. My guess is you have an intermittent sensor somewhere that it tripping things up and causing the surge. I would hope they could diagnose or possibly send you home with a recorder box, so they can catch the data at some point.
