Barn doors/key fob question

i know I saw this somewhere but can’t find it now. Is there a way to disable the barn door open feature on the key fob? On occasion when I reach back to mess with the kids or something I roll onto the remote that is in my pocket and open the doors. Big deal if I’m at a light that turns green and I have to jump out and close them. I know, I know, I could just not keep them in my pocket, but then I end up leaving them in the car leaving it open to get stolen (like my wife did a few months ago). Any advice?

There is a software update at the dealer that will link the barn doors in with the other 4 doors in terms of locking. So that once you get moving and the doors lock, you cannot open the barn doors without first unlocking the other doors. I was having the same problem as you and the software fix sees to have made it better.

I think you can find the option in the settings. It should be under something like Doors/Keys.

There is....a setting that disables the barn door opening on the fob only. Found it yesterday!

Care to tell us where you found that?

Recently got the GoBadges cover for the fob, and now it seems the barn doors are opening - because of pressure on the case in wife's purse?
She's a bit freaked out to walk out of the house and see the back doors open.

Eric, on my 2019 it is in the vehicle settings under doors/keys. You can choose the option that blocks the rear door button when the car is locked. I have tested it and it works! when the car is locked, the rear doors will not open via the fob button. They will still pop open via the foot kick method when the car is locked. So... key in the purse/pocket could still accidentally unlock the car and subsequently make the rear door button active to pop open the rears. We all have to re-think how we carry our fobs to prevent accidental openings as well as making our cars vulnerable to the criminal element. A key lanyard around your neck or a shirt pocket works best for me.

Thanks, Landspeeder. Was just in for service and they did a software update, but my 2017 doesn't seem to have that option. It only allows a selection between the button operating the barn doors alone, or unlocking the entire car. Hmmmm.
