What is this empty connector used for?

Hi, I bought a used MINI F54 from dealer. And yesterday, I found a strange connector just beside the engine. I am wondering, is this connector supposed to be left empty? Or the previous owner modified anything? There is no fault light or code in the panel and ISTA.

Also, my car does shake a little bit at low RPM (<1000). The shaking disappears if I slightly hit the pedal. I am not sure if these two things are related. I am going to bring my car to a dealer next week. But I want to know your comments first. Thank!

Used on the shared BMW side, this is a shared engine with BMW.

Looks like a factory blank part. Suppose to be that way.
