Speedometer Plastic

The speedometer plastic covering cracked on our F54. Has anyone ever dealt with that and replacing the plastic only? Curious how complicated that is and whether the plastic covering can be bought separately or if the entire speedometer has to be purchased?

Cant just get the plastic on its own, most people either buy a new whole unit or they take it from a donor off ebay or used part place. I have taken apart the older Gen 1 MINI and the Gen 2 MINI. Have not taken apart one on a Gen 3

Thats the parts available on there own. Not much.

The most economical way would be to remove the cracked part and have it plastic welded then vinyl wrapped.
