(I was wondering when it was going to appear in this thread.)
Not to worry -- if anyone is so gracious to ask, I'll be sure to send in Poppa Bear first.

Didja plan on taking the car trains through the mountains? I seem to recall they were about 40-50 swiss francs ($36-$45), each way. You've got my attention with the Stelvio Pass as that was on my list for this summer. How far along have you gotten with locales?
Cheers!!
Cheers!!
I'll try to go w/whoever can make it later in the year...
ANd btw Blimey, I should be back in the 'States sometime in late June/Early July for some pre-deployment leave and plan to hit the Dragon in my Miata that I keep at my brother's house in Atlanta.
I'll post when I get a firm date...

Google Earth file, here. Shows actual route (which is VERY different), and is color coded by elevation.
This is a pretty good preview of the tales we need to tell -- TomTom's wild rides, the tale of the Black Knight, the scenic detour that ended in a snowball fight, etc. Amazing trip -- my cheeks hurt from the perpetual state of SEG.
And that Dragon thing in the US? Yeah, um, I'm going to have to vote NO on that one. It can't compare to this. Can't.
Oh, and PB, the GE file on your server (4.2?) has a space in the file name -- that makes it undownloadable. Needs to be solid text -- try replacing the space with an underscore or something, or just removing it.

Oh, and were there little side roads? Dirt ones?
Um, yeah. The Swiss Alps sort of roll right on down to the Black Forrest, home to knights that slay dragons.
And home to little goat trails that stop whole convoys.
Ask Poppa Bear about where TomTom took us, on our way to the hotel the first night. That was special. I think I marked it on the Google Earth file.
Right up a freakin' cliff.

I sure hope so. The guidon is being passed to Poppa Bear, I think -- I head out to America this summer (I ship the car tomorrow, in fact). But hell, I'd come back and do it again on R&R in a heartbeat!
