My power outlet is broken

Like the title says my outlet is broken so i have to use the one in the boot to power my ipod. Is there a cord extender so the ipod can reach my cupholder under the toggles. Cause I have to reach back to the backseat to select a song and its becoming very annoying

Radio Shack sells an extension cord you can use. Lighter plug on one end, socket on the other.

Mine did hte same thing a couple of weeks ago. I had to go by the dealer (hour and a half away) to get the alarm programmed so I had them look at it.

Basically ended up being the 2 prongs inside it got bent a little too far outwards and were not making good contact. The service guy just bent them back and they work fine now. Strangly, the lighted ring around the plug is not working.

I would try that first. What did it on mine was the cig plug for the Garmin 660 I have. It has very strong prongs and caused them to get bent.

Same thing here with the prongs. Pull it out and push everything together, and see if that helps at all.

If your plug is bad (and fuses are ok), you can also replace the lighter socket. The P/N is 61-34-6-973-035 and costs $3.24 from Classic Mini. If your light also needs replacing the bulb P/N: is 07-50-9-063-579 and costs $2.08. (the bulb+the bulb socket is 61-34-6-915-065 and costs $3.02).

I know because I just ordered this stuff to add the cig in the boot (I have an 03 which didn't have one there).
