you dont want 8000k lights though, the OEM HID are 4300 and are plenty bright, with 8000 you are getting more bluish light than usable white light. Basically the higher in k you go the less useable light you output.
I have 8,000K's on my Mini... It's still plenty bright. The thing is, no two companies will ever have the same Color Displacement, it seems. I have the Projectors though, so I know that it takes away from the "Color" as compared to a regular beam.
For Non-Projectors, I'd go 6,000K. For Projectors.. I love my 8,000K's.

ahahahahahah they will look like junk....way too much glare coming out of non-xenon headlights. You do realize that it will blind nearly all oncoming drivers, and your cutoff will be incredibly sloppy. PLEASE, if you are going to get xenons....don't be a cheapskate. Get the real deal so that you dont blind people and drive around with glare ridden headlights.
A little more info about drop in kits in halogen housings:
The shape of the HID bulbs is not meant to be used in the housings. It causes quite a few problems including lots of glare, a messed up cutoff, very little light on the ground where you need it, a very narrow light beam.
You can see in this video (a car with HIDs in his halogen housing) how little light is being shown on the ground and when he turns onto the dark street....look how little light is making it to the sides....almost none.

In this one(third car)....one headlight is the normal stock bulb in a halogen housing, the other side is a HID in a halogen housing. Look how much more it glares above the cutoff and notice that the halogen is putting out far more light ON THE ROAD. I laugh at ricers when i see their headlights putting off this much glare. Yah, i agree, the blue/white look of expensive car HID systems looks awesome and can be a great addition to your car....but this just makes your car look like another $100 honda:

And a comparison of cutoffs....HID drop in kit in a HID project headlight:

versus a drop in kit in a halogen headlight
Notice the amount of glare above the cutoff (in the oncoming traffics' eyes), and notice that the light is being focused in two very small beams on the wall....awful for any kind of night driving
