Parking distance control switch

OK, oddball question here. I located a "blank" on my center console immediately opposite the flat tire sensor reset button. I cannot find a picture of what should go here. Real OEM shows it as having to do with the parking distance control system. Here comes the odd part: If I purchase this switch, is it possible to use it to control a set of driving lights? Thanks

I don't see why not. If you could get a switch wired up to fit in that blank then that would work. I'm glad you dug that up because I have wondered also what went there.

I think you won't know whether the switch will work or not until you have one in hand to test electrically. Many (most?) of the switches on MINI are designed to work with the BC1 and do not function like normal contact switches. I'm only speculating but I would guess that it is a non-latching push switch (like the tire sensor reset button). You may be able to hook it up to a relay so that each press of the switch toggles the lights between on and off.

Alternatively, you can simply install a regular switch in that location. See my post in this thread: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=64646
