Interior tube lighting

I an trying to add some red tube lighting to the inside of my MINI, but how do I wire it so that they turn on when I open the doors? I planned on putting a 6'' tube between the front seat and the door sill. Like by the seat adjustment handle.

hook it to your footwell lights.

i have white neon hooked to my gauge lighting, so they are on when the parking lights are on instad of when the doors open.

i would use the lights under your dash (footwell lights) and just pull power from them.

I havent had any problems with mine yet!

I removed my white floor lights and replaced them with orange LED tubes. Just unplug the connector and use the wires from that to power your tube - it'll also fade in/out like the normal lights D

When you get things installed, please take some pictures! I was thinking of doing something similar to my car, but use maybe the wire type led lights or something thin and small to add some more accent to the interior. Was thinking of having it light up inside the car at night, but not be so bright.

Also, KevinBaker, could you post some pics of yours as well? I think some Blue LEDs for mine would be great!
