Engine Start button from Moss in a 2005 Cooper?

Hi, Friends!

For Christmas I got the Ignited brand Engine Start button for my 2005 Mini Cooper (http://www.mossmini.com/Shop/ViewPro...0&SortOrder=1). I've searched all over this site and others to see if it can be installed in a 2005, and, if so, how it looks. I know from past purchases (and returns ) that the cockpit had been redesigned in 2005 and some things in the Moss catalog don't always fit/look as intended.

This is "installed in place of the cigarette lighter/power outlet," according to the description. In my Mini the cigarette lighter is almost inside the cubby hole, so if I have anything in it, the lighter is covered up. So, just wondering if anyone else has installed it.

Thanks!

Well I found one thread with some information which is here
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...e+Start+Button

Within that thread someone posted a link to instructions provided my Moss Mini. They stated that the instructions aren't very helpful though but here is the link to that.

I did not find any pictures of anyone having it installed in the Mini. But hopefully this helps you some.

Happy Motoring and Congrats on your first post!

EDIT: I found another thread with some more posts to it.

Saw 'em

Yep, thanks, saw these links in my travels, not the same kit. And, they're right, those on-line instructions are terrible! Plus, the pictures in the other link are of a Honda with a nicer start button than this one, I believe.

Thanks for the help, but hopefully someone out there has some more info on this particular start button.

P.S. - and, congratulations on your 300th post!

all you realy have to do is put it in line with the ignition switch, whichever wire runs from the key switch to the starter solenoid.

Yeah, I think I understand that, I'm wondering more how it fits in the 2005 cockpit. The cigarette lighter is 'way inside the cubby.
