Electrical Rear Fog Question
Rear Fog Question
When I installed the Ian circuit in my '04MCS, I also replaced the switch bank at the same time, going to the 6-switch bank which includes the rear fog switch. No rear fogs installed so I'm just wondering if there is a lonely/unused plug/connector somewhere in the rear of the car which I could tap to use the new switch for some after-market electrical mods. Any ideas about where to obtain a corresponding and compatable connector would also be appreciated. TIA
If you have an '04, you DO have rear fogs installed. The bulbs and connections are all there from the factory (at the top of the taillight cluster.)
If you want the fogs to be activated, you need to go to the dealer and they'll tell your BCM (Body Control Module) that you have the toggle and voila! rear fogs work. Until the dealer activates the BCM though, it's just a nice looking dummy switch. The dealer will likely charge you 1/2hour of labor.

Cool! Thanks for the reply. Rodan is going in next month or so for a check-up so I will inquire then. The dealer here in Vegas will no doubt charge for the service. No breaks for us.
Alternatively, sounds like I could tap off the rear light module for my needs.
Thanks again.
