Driving lights??

I'm 90% sure I'll be picking up a DS/B S tommorrow. Unfortunately, it doensn't have the driving lights. Is there a place to purchase them separately? Can the MINI light covers be purchased as well? I'd rather not go to the dealership. Thanks guys!!

Order the genuine ones from Classic MINI at a significant discount and install yourself or have someone who knows automotive electrical stuff do it for you.

Or, order a set of aftermarket lights. They won't have the MINI logo covers but many of these kits are much higher quality than the MINI stuff and about half the price. . .

I have the PIAA 540 kit that came with mounting brackets for the MINI. Looks great both on and off!

 You can order OEM lights from Classic MINI in Ohio. They're a vendor here on NAM and give discounts to NAM members. You'd still have to pay for the installation.

Or you can go after-market and get PIAAs or Hellas. I'm sure folks will chime in with more info!

I have PIAAs, the ones that Yucca mentioned above, and love them! They came with covers that look like little grid-like cages.

The install takes time but it isn't difficult. I did it myself and it went smoothly.

Classic gives NAM members a 20% discount

But the OEM lights are about $400. With the discount they would be about $320 but you can get PIAA's or other similar kits for about $250 or less. . .

Hey im thinkinig of getting some driving lights. What is the best brand for its value. What would be the lowest cost option. What are your thoughts on the piaa 540's?

Here is my install for the Hella FF200 in chrome. They run about $300 but I picked mine up from a authorized vendor on eBay for $169 plus S&H. He runs a set every once in awhile. I prefer these over the OEM since I don't have to remove the covers to use them.

How about the Hella 500 driving lamp series, or the ff200 series. Do they come with brackets for the mini, or could you buy the brackets seperatly? Thanks

Hella makes a kit with the ff200's for the MINI. Ootmotoring and Madness both have brackets that can be used to mount almost any type of light. I'm planning on using the Outmotoring bracket to mount some generic ff200's on the lower grill.
