Auto dimming mirror with Home Link retrofit?

Does anyone know if the auto dimming mirror with HomeLink can be retrofitted into the MINI? The mirror is included in the convenience package along with auto wipers & auto head lights. I was thinking one could get the mirror for less that the $400 the package costs. I put one in my Forester for $180. Do you think the wiring is already there in an 06 MINI?

Thanks,

Chuck

Yes, you can retrofit it and it should be pre-wired. No, the mirror itself costs $420 discounted.

Now if you just want the Homelink rearview without the autodimming option, that one's about $190 discounted.

That package is the bargain of the century!

Wow Tarzan,

That really does seem like a deal. Is there a way to bypass the auto headlights & the auto wipers? Or is it best to just live with them?

Yes, the auto headlights and auto wipers also have a manual on and manual off. I'm kicking myself for not getting that last package. I since retrofitted the homelink rearview, but not the auto-dim.

Thanks for the feedback Tarzan. I'll be calling my MA with a change to that package.

My only complaint about getting the package is that it doesn't dim the side view mirrors like my last car did. Auto dimming mirrors are a great option.

Part numbers would be great if available?
