Changing light bulbs

Has anyone changed the foglight, highbeam, and turn signal indicator light bulbs? I know the foglights and highbeams are H7 bulbs. Does anyone know which lightbulb the driving lights use? I want to change them so that they match better with my HIDs (xenons). I was thinking about putting the Sylvania Silver Stars as i heard that is about as close a match to HIDs as you'll get. Thanks in advance.

I too have an '02 MINI. I have had the misfortune of having to have to replace the whole fog assembly due to a rock through the lens. Twice....As a result I have an H7 and an H11. I just purchased the fog assembly to replace the other side. The dealer forgot, as did I, we need the conversion kit, as the H7 fog assemlbies are no longer available.....

When I replaced my fog bulbs I bought them here:
http://www.europeanautosport.com/yellow.htm

I think you may be able to get them cheaper now. Here is at lease one source found doing a google search for H7 fog lights:
http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-33169.cfm

The mark light bulb in the bumnper on the righ and left sides is a pain to get to..

Any other questions drop me a note....

'02, EB/W, 17" SSR-GT1, 15% Helix, H-Sport Sway Bar, H&R Springs, 100K
on the way, Alta Blue CAI, Alta Blue Oil Catch Can, 3M Cleargaurd for lights....

the front turn signals are pretty difficult to get at without taking the bumper off, but i manage... just twist the socket to the left i believe... well, just twist it... tilt it 45 degrees and the bulb assembly for it will pop right out

I hope you're not talking about the turn signal indicators in the front bumper because those are easily accessible via the bonnet cavity. Pop the bonnet, there is a little cut out area that you can reach the turn signal/parking lights through. The turn signal indicators on the side of the car in front of the door are changable via popping off the little plastic cover over the light.

the driving lights take H3 55 watts. i bought the sylvania silverstars and they are much whiter than the OEMs that came with the kit.

Hi everyone, how do you get to the parking lights beside the turn signals? I changed my fogs to xenon and I want to get rid of that pesky yellow bulb but only the wire pops out not the bulb with it...do I have to remove the bumper?

Needs to be twisted 1/4 turn. And elsewhere on this site is a trick of spray painting the top 1/3 of the bulb with silver paint. When it's back in the socket, it doesn't look yellow anymore. When you toggle the turn indicator, it flashes yellow (per federal law, I think). Best of both worlds!

I've used Silverstars in the past, but I think the Hoen "Xenonmatch" bulbs are a closer match to the factory HID lights. I have them on my driving lights so far - just need to get off my butt and replace the fogs/high beams as well.

That's what I did for the driving lights, looks so much better just lows and fogs.

Can't wait till the Nokya yellow fogs come in along with the new fog housings since I melted part of mine with HIDs haha.

Maybe a silly question, but how did you guys disable the driving lights?

I know this is an old post, but I'm looking to change to fog light bulbs in my 2006 MCS and have seen the bulb type listed as both H11 and H7. What's amusing is the Bentley manual states the fog bulbs as being H7s and then in the frickin' picture the bulbs clearly have H11 stamped on them. Were the early fog-lights H7s while later MINIs are H11s? What's the cut-off?

EDIT: Nevermind, found my answer here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...167-post4.html
