LED Brake Lights

Does anybody sell LED brake lights for a '02 MINI? I saw a MINI once with LED's and it looked really nice. Is this something that i could mod onto the current brake lights as is? Any response would be great!

Cheers, Jonathan

It's doable.

The voltages are very different, so you have to take that into account, and use some resistors..... but with a dremel tool, curcuit board, and some effort, you could do it.... With a little more creativity you could lay out your own LED pattern as well.....

Whatever floats your boat! But I haven't seen "drop in" LED kits, but it's not something I'd really spend time looking for.

LED tail lights

You may find one persons custom if you do a good search. It was either here or on MINI 2. It was mentioned in passing, as a question, where did you get... and the response was that he had cut out the reflectors, and made his own circuit board of LED's

I used drop in LED 1156 to turn my "fog" lights into "brake" lights. They are not bright enough to be the main brake lights, but are fine if you are directly behind the car. Since they are in addition to the original brake lights, I find them adequate.

A company called ClearCorners makes LED brake lights and other LED lights for the MINI. Thing is that their all custom made so they are VERY pricey $$$$$$. Here is a link to the MINI page but it currently not working for me:

http://clearcorners.com/products/mini/

You could check out some of their other products on the main page www.clearcorners.com .

Yikes!

A bit pricey for sure:

$820/pair Full LED Tail Light "Conversion" (02-04)

I always wanted to do this with my bug, though : (
