Nope, if you select an '02, it shows fogs are H7. Interesting thing is that it also shows the high beams on all years as H9 . Now we know for a fact that's not true as people have put H7 PIAA Ion Yellow's in their fogs and high beams (at least on '02). Is there a good comparison picture of H7 vs H11 somewhere? If I take out the bulb, will I be able to determine if it's H7 or H11?

That is weird. 2002 manual says H7 and H7 for fogs.

Others are H7 and H11 for fogs

Here is a link I found that shows the differences between the bulb types. The H7 is a straight bulb that plugs in vertically. H11 has a 90 degree bend so the fillament is parallel to the plug. How easy is it to get to the foglight and take the bulb out with the bumper off?

Per Bentley, you take off the wheel, take of the front fender lining, and the bulb just pulls out front the rear and replace. Dont know if you need new fender liner clips or not. You might ask MINI

That's actually the part I'm wondering about. I have the manual. Also, what exactly is the inner fender liner?

its that black piece of plastic behind the wheel. I think its held by some kind of clips. It "lines" the fender well.

If you turn the wheels all the way in the same direction as the fog lamp that you are working on, you will have enough room to access it. No need to remove the wheel.

For the fender liner clips, you unscrew the middle insert, and then pull out the outer portion of the clip. No need to buy new ones - just reuse.

Ah, those are like the underbody clips for our Honda Insight. I'll take a look this weekend if I have time. Thanks!

Well MINI done did it. They replaced the one enclosure with an H11. I didn't check the other side to see if they replaced both of them (highly doubtful). I think I'm running one H7 and one H11 .

(edit) I just looked at the Bentley manual and the picture of the foglight clearly says H11 on the back. Now I'm really confused.
