Electrical Non-Adaptive to Adaptive Retrofit Headlights?
Non-Adaptive to Adaptive Retrofit Headlights?
Hi All,
I currently have the non-adaptive bi-xenon lights in my car, they do the vertical dance, but no horizontal motion. I checked mdecoder and see that only have S522 and not S524. If I buy a set of S524 adaptive headlights, will it require anything more than updating the VO to add S524?
Thanks

So far as I know, Gen2 cars only had the vertical adjustment. The wiring harness to the lights and the body control module would need to have the connections to support both H and V adjustment as well as the associated sensor. I haven't checked the wiring diagrams in the manual but I don't think the necessary connections and programming are there.
Hey, you would need a different FRM module that handles the horizontal swivel. It's called FRM AHL EKS. Code the new FRM to have your VIN, then VO code the car to have the new option of adaptive headlights. Here's someone who did it on a R60 countryman: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...t-upgrade.html
