Electrical Xenons subtly flickering
Xenons subtly flickering
Hi All,
I recently installed a set of the OEM Mini 25w Xenon retrofit kit onto my 2007 S that has no factory options other than the lsd. I coded the various elements using NCS Expert as explained in this thread, which stopped the rapid flashing that they do when you first install them, apparently due to the bulb check functionality. The high beams and flashing now work fine. However, I’ve noticed a slight problem that I can’t find reference to.
When I turn on the lights with the key in the accessory mode but the engine not started the lights look great. When I start the car and remain still, still great. However, when I put the car in gear after a couple seconds both lights begin to very subtly flicker. This is similar to the timing when the lights would flash rapidly before coding the $522 and other FRM options, so I have to assume it’s some other system check or similar causing it. It doesn't seem to be a ground or other wiring issue as it only starts when the car is put into gear and the clutch is let out. If I then put the clutch back in and come to a stop it continues. Has anyone else seen this, or have any ideas on what I can check for or try to stop it? Thanks!

There seem to be both Cold & Hot bulb checks; are they both coded out?
I'm not sure if the following is relevant - ignore the LED references:I think these are the parameters for the front turn signals. There are three for each bulb. One to turn off cold check, one to turn off warm checks, and one to specify LEDs. I don't know if all three are required, but I know I switched all three and I don't get strobing or bulb out warnings with non-CANBUS LED bulbs.

The could be it. I'll check those values.
I definitely coded the following:
1. Added $522 VO for Xenons
2. FRM Module Changes:
Disables auto-leveling
AUTO_LWR_ENABLE
nicht_aktiv
Also disables auto-leveling
DYNAM_LWR_ENABLE
nicht_aktiv
Changes headlight pinout
PWM_FL_BEI_BIXENON
wert_01
wert_01
I believe that I checked the following as they were mentioned earlier in that thread, but I'll confirm.
Low beam cold monitoring
KALTUE_AL_M1_6_M2_38 set to nicht_aktiv
low beam hot monitoring
WARMUE_AL_M1_6_M2_38 set to nicht_aktiv

In the end this thread helped me find the solution:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ml#post4623298
I had to set PWM_AL to wert_01.
