Speedometer change

Hi, anybody changed their speedometer? Is it plug and play or coding is required? Is the mileage reading stored in the ECU or in the speedometer memory? Tq

The combi, as it’s called, is indeed able to be replaced. Mine was replaced under warranty. The mileage is stored in the car’s computer and registers correctly when the new one is installed. As mine was done at the dealership under warrantly, I’m not sure if any coding or other measures were necessary.
