Opinions on R53 DEPO (or Helix) Headlights
Hi everyone! I have a facelift '06 R53 with xenon headlights. One of the ballasts has died and the other one is on its way out - given the price of trustworthy replacements and the fact that the globes are in pretty bad shape already, I'd like to move on to simpler halogen replacements. I have heard that the DEPO and Helix headlights are plug and play. I'd like to get opinions on those and answers to some questions:
- The DEPOs look like their lens is tinted rather than the housing. Is that right? That might be a deal-breaker.
- The Helixes are effectively only 50$ more given that they ship for free unlike the DEPOs. I was leaning DEPO because of the smoked-out look (black Helixes are out of stock everywhere). Is the difference in quality significant enough that I should go for a Joey mod on the Helixes instead?
- Anything else I should know? Considerations about turn signals, fit quality, etc.
Thank you!
